THUNDER - COMING SOON

*** VIDEO NOW POSTED ***

2019 Dapple Grey Pony Gelding

5 years old and about 13.2 hands

$20,000

Thunder is the perfect all around pony for your kids. Our eight year old son has worked extensively with Thunder both on the ground and in the saddle. He follows Oliver around like a puppy and Oliver easily walks, trots, and lopes him while carrying a flag, bouncing a ball, or dragging a tarp. He’s ridden Thunder all over our property, crossing water, going over the stairs, and going up and down the tilt trailer - one of our scariest obstacles - and has felt safe and confident every step of the way.

Thunder takes care of beginners but a more experienced kid will easily be able to trot and lope him. He’s great at poles and barrels, easily picking up the patterns, and would be fantastic in gymkhana or at play days. Thunder hops in the trailer and gets along well with the other horses. We have had him in a stall and out on pasture with a handful of other horses without issue. He straight ties and cross ties and has no problem being tied next to other horses. He’s such a solid citizen we’ve even used him to pony unruly young horses and he took it all in stride.

Thunder is super smart and friendly, easily stealing your heart with his overly friendly, dog-like personality.  He’s the perfect size for kids to grow into or to step up to from a littler pony. He picks up both leads easily, has comfortable gaits that are easy for children to sit, and will help them develop confidence and skill. He carries things around in his mouth like a dog and is guaranteed to make you laugh with his ridiculous antics. He has been exposed to dogs, cars, trucks, tractors, quads, UTVs, leaf blowers, birds taking off, loud noises, tarps, balls, flags, and ropes all over his body and feet.

Thunder has been pre-vet checked and is up to date on vaccines, teeth, worming, and farrier.  No maintenance.

BOOTS - FOR SALE NOW

2013 AQHA Sorrel Rabicano (Roan) Gelding

11 years old and about 15 hands

$30,000

Boots is as well trained as he is stunning!!  He is really well broke with an amazing stop and an easy one hand neck rein.  He picks up both leads, rates his speed well, and collects.  This guy is easily one of the most broke horses we've had this year, with an amazing mind - and he is absolutely drop dead gorgeous.  He has extensive experience roping, barrel racing, pole bending, working cows and is great on trail.

Boots does everything we ask of him with an extremely willing attitude. He's the kind who will greet you in his stall and lay his head  on your shoulder and then happily stand for you to brush him and love on him. He is a true unicorn type that we absolutely love working with.

Boots is fancy bred and super flashy with 4 white socks and a stunning bald face and a mane and tail for days. We feel that Boots would make a phenomenal gymkhana horse, barrel horse or rope horse. He'd also be great as the fanciest trail horse ever. He's gentle enough that our 8 year old son can ride him but responsive enough that we love riding him too!

Boots has been pre-vet checked and is up to date on vaccines, teeth, worming, and farrier. Preventative hock maintenance was done by previous owner however it is not needed.

JASPER - FOR SALE NOW

VIDEO AVAILABLE NOW - CLICK BELOW

2012 Sorrel Quarter Horse/Draft Cross Gelding

12 years old and around 14.3 hands

$22,500

Jasper is an extremely sweet, gentle, laid back guy. We feel like he'll make someone a fantastic trail horse but he has years of experience doing all the ranch chores so he could also be a great ranch horse.  Our 6 year old loves to lead him around the ranch including up into the trailer and loves to brush him everywhere!

Jasper is as thick and pretty as they come  and is ready to cover some ground out on trail. He has tons of miles out on the ranch and has a great mind. We don’t work with too many draft crosses so the fact that we brought him into the program tells you how great he is.

Whether you're looking for an easy, dependable trail horse or ranch horse for yourself or your family, Jasper is a fantastic babysitter. He'll take care of you, your kids, and your non horsey friends. He's experienced, reasonable, and doesn't shy away from deep water crossings, tarps, balls, dogs, or anything else you can throw at him. We had a really hard time getting him to spook away from anything. He has comfortable gaits, a dependable stop, and can easily pick up his leads.

Jasper also loves being brushed and groomed by both kids and adults, whether in a stall or in cross ties, and he loves being hand walked around. He's just happy to be around people.

If you're looking for a horse to greet you in the stall or at the gate, take care of you on trail or around the ranch, and just be an all around easy, lovable horse, Jasper's your guy!

TACOMA - FOR SALE NOW

VIDEO AVAILABLE NOW - CLICK BELOW

2019 Black Quarterhorse Gelding

5 years old and around 15 hands

$25,000

Tacoma is a super gentle young horse with the friendliest, most curious personality - he is a complete pet. He has lots of trail miles all around the ranch and out in the forests of Idaho so he's not fazed by much.  He loves people and just wants to be everyone's friend.

Tacoma is the kind of horse that everyone can ride. He can take you out on trail one day and carry your kids around the next. Under saddle he takes everything at the ranch in stride. He's been adjusting to our ground work program and learning that he can't actually be in your pocket all the time - and that even if he tests, he won't get away with it.  He loves a leisurely trail ride and has also proven himself to be a nice arena horse too.  We feel like he could go in pretty much any direction you’d like.

For a young horse we feel Tacoma is about as husband safe and kid safe as you can get.  He does great with deep water crossings, tarps, balls, dogs, cars, tractors, coyotes, dirt bikes, motorcycles, quads or anything else we have walked him over or thrown at him. In the arena he collects, side passes, has a great stop and easily picks up his leads.

Our 6 year old can trailer load him, wash him, touch him anywhere, and walk him all around the ranch. He is the same dependable guy day in and day out whether in cold, rain, wind and even with time off after a quick groundwork session. He has been ridden by beginners and has patiently babysat every rider on different trails, on the road and in the arena.

Tacoma is perfect if you're looking for a horse that will babysit your non horsey friends, take you out on trail or around the ranch, and then let your kids ride him around the arena. He's just a great all around guy.

Tacoma has been pre-vet checked and is up to date on vaccines, teeth, worming, and farrier. No maintenance.

RENO - FOR SALE NOW

***VIDEO NOW POSTED***

2018 Palomino Draft Cross Gelding

6 years old and 14.3 hands

$25,000

Reno is an absolutely incredible trail horse and is about as thick and pretty as they come. He is a draft crossed with a quarter horse and has that calm slow draft mind with the willingness we love from our quarter horses. He is brave on trail and walks over any obstacle you out in front of him and is willing to go anywhere or do anything out on trail. We have also spent a ton of time in the arena and Reno has incredibly comfortable smooth gaits and can walk, trot and his lope is our favorite! He can easily pick up his leads and rates his speed beautifully though trail riding is where he really shines. Reno can sidepass, open gates, carry a tarp, carry a flag, carry a ball and is comfortable around the cows, bison, dogs, cars, trucks, tractors, quads, dirtbikes, UTV’s, weed whackers, blowers, ducks and anything else we have thrown his way. He is truly a wonderful kind and gentle horse looking for someone to call his own and have a purpose in life.

Unfortunately Reno had a very tough start in life and was mistreated before we got him so he was a bit of a mess in the beginning and had a hard time trusting people. At Lazy Oaks we put the horses first and Reno needed us and we don’t give up easy so we decided to start him over from scratch and we have put over 15 months of professional training into him and covered all the bases from the ground up. What amazes us most is that even though we had to put him through a lot to get to where we are today, Reno has never offered to rear, buck or bolt which is a true testament to his calm and safe nature. It can still take him a minute to warm up to new people but when he accepts you as his person he bonds incredibly strongly and is a big gentle cuddle bug. Reno needs someone who is patient and kind and who has the time to love on him and pick up where we left off to form a strong bond and give him someone to rely on.

Reno has been pre-vet checked and is up to date on vaccines, teeth, worming, and farrier. No maintenance.

LEGEND - FOR SALE NOW

***UPDATED PHOTOS NOW POSTED

2019 AQHA Registered Palomino Gelding

5 years old and 15 hands

$30,000

Legend is an absolutely incredible horse for his age and he has excelled in every aspect of the program. He has a stunningly beautiful dark golden coat after he shedded out and a flaxen mane and tail that we all love so much. He is as calm, gentle, and wonderfully sweet as you’ll ever find and he is absolutely dog gentle. He has all of the buttons that we expect from horses more than twice his age. He is practically unflappable and does as well in the arena as he does on trail. He is as husband and kid safe as we ever see and he would do well for anyone including our greenest riders.

Legend is thick, calm and extremely easy going about whatever we throw his way and he has been exposed to weed whackers, chain saws, barking/snarling dogs, buffalo, cows, cars, trucks, donkeys, dirt bikes, quads, UTV’s, tractors, farm equipment, welding, jackhammering and everything you can imagine on trail. He has a nice slow trot, comfortable lope and an easy walk. He would be a phenomenal trail horse, great all around arena horse or do just about anything you can think of if you want a laid back mellow horse to do it.

Legend picks up both leads and rates his speed really nicely and is also happy to take you out on trail, either by himself or in a group. Legend would make a fantastic all around horse who we feel could be ridden and enjoyed by pretty much anyone. If you feel like Legend could be the unicorn you've been looking for please reach out to us - we think he's going to go really fast.

Legend has been pre-vet checked and is up to date on vaccines, teeth, worming, and farrier. No maintenance.

PEARL - FOR SALE NOW

2002 AQHA Registered Bay Mare

22 years old and 14.1 hands

$9500

Pearl is sweet and friendly and has been ridden by all different types and ages of riders including our 6 and 8 year old kids. She is easily the most trained cutting horse we have owned with 13k in NCHA earnings. Pearl is incredibly sound for her age and experience and still loves to cut on the flag. She has experience with many different disciplines and even does some bridless riding. Pearl has impeccable ground manners easily being handled by kids and she has been hauled extensively so she does not care about any type of horse or stock trailer.

Pearl has done many of the ranch chores and is just about unflappable so she is great on trial too. She is a been there done that type of horse and would be great to build skills and confidence on. We feel like she would make an absolutely fantastic family all around horse doing a mix of arena and trail work. She has a super nice cut on her for anyone wanting to do cutting or sorting. We think that she would also do great in lower level gymkhana.

With the growth of our Lazy Oaks training program (thanks to all of you!!) we have gotten busier and busier. Pearl really doesn’t mind getting some time off however she is just too trained and loves to have a job so its tough to see her sit around. We have made the tough decision to put her through the program and try to find a great forever home for her.

She is incredibly safe and would do well with a new or experienced rider however a trainer would be helpful for a greener rider since she has so many buttons and is sensitive off of your aids and cues. Experienced riders will be drooling with how well trained she is the second they get on her. We have loved her and trained her for the last 3 years and she easily passed the program. Take a look at how well she does with the kids in her video.

Pearl has been pre-vet checked and is up to date on vaccines, teeth, worming, and farrier. No maintenance for all around work including light cutting however some maintenance recommended for more performance and arena work.

JET - FOR SALE NOW

Black Canadian Draft Cross Pony Gelding

10 years old and 14 hands

$15,000

Jet is absolutely stunning, thick built and weighs nearly 900 pounds so he is easily able to be ridden by adults. He came to us as an experienced trail horse with lots of miles up in the wilds of Canada. Though we could have let him be as just a great trail horse we always try to get them to be as well rounded as possible so we have spent the last few months working on making him an all around pony. We had to wake him up a little from his built in laid back ways to get further along in the program and he has been doing great. He is getting more and more consistent and we are now in the process of letting him settle back in to his chill ways.

Jet has an incredible forelock and thick mane that adds to how cute he is. He has all the buttons our intermediate riders love to have and at the moment he could easily be ridden by them with no additional training needed. We still haven’t decided exactly how far we want to take him but he will be a really cool horse whether we call it good as a great trail horse and intermediate rider’s arena horse or continue on to get him beginner friendly all around. One thing is for sure, he is not spooky and has not done anything naughty the entire time we’ve had him.

Jet has been pre-vet checked and is up to date on vaccines, teeth, worming, and farrier. No maintenance.

Young kids have ridden him all over on trail even riding out on a cattle ranch to help out the big horses. He is fantastic with beginners and a more experienced kid will easily be able to trot and lope him. He hops in the trailer and gets along well with the other horses. We have had him in a stall and out on pasture with a handful of other horses without issue.

Scooter is super smart and friendly easily stealing your heart with his calm and goofy personality. He has been exposed to cars, trucks, tractors, quads, utvs, leaf blowers, chain saws, birds taking off, dogs, loud noises, tarps, balls, flags, ropes all over his body and feet. He easily crosses water, steps over logs and even carries the flag.

Blossom has lots of varied experience and has done lots of ranch work and been on countless trails outside and at the ranch. She does fine with walk, trot and lope in the arena but trail is where she really shines. She takes great care of her rider and would be a great kid’s trail horse or therapeutic riding horse.

He hops in the trailer with a point and a click and can stand tied for hours. He

Navajo has been hauled extensively and doesn’t mind being in any type of horse or stock trailer. He has been exposed to barking/snarling dogs, cows, Bison, cars, trucks, goats, donkeys, dirt bikes, quads, UTV’s, tractors, farm equipment, welding, jackhammering and everything you can imagine on trail. He has a nice comfortable trot, slow lope and a leisurely walk. We feel like he would do best as an all around horse for someone experienced or for anyone if they have access to a trainer to keep up the training though he could be great for someone less experienced on trail.

SOLD - Amigo

2012 AQHA Registered Buckskin Gelding

12 years old and 15.1 hands

$32,000

Amigo is a thick, beautiful buckskin gelding and is easily the most trained horse we own. He has an energetic, can do attitude under saddle and has all of the manners you’ve come to expect from Lazy Oaks horses. It’s rare that we part with a personal horse so if you want one that is super special call us ASAP.

With the growth of our Lazy Oaks training program (thanks to all of you!!) we have gotten busier and busier. Most of our personal horses don’t mind getting some time off, however Amigo is just too trained and loves to have a job, so it’s tough to see him sit around. We have made the difficult decision to put him through the program and try to find a great forever home for him.

Amigo is incredibly safe and solid and will take care of his rider. He is quick and responsive with a strong work ethic and would be perfect for an experienced rider who will give him a job to do. He picks up both leads, carries the flag, side passes, rides through water and up and down stairs. He would be a great gymkhana or ranch riding horse and though we don’t rope, Amigo came to us as a finished head horse. He is blast around cows whether you rope or not.

Amigo has been exposed to barking dogs, UTVs, tractors, vehicle traffic, dirt bikes, coyotes, and all of the other loud, scary, unpredictable sights and sounds of ranch and trail life - he takes everything in stride. Although he could be, and has been, ridden by just about anyone on trail, we feel he would be best suited to a more experienced rider because he is so responsive. We have taken him on 10+ mile trail rides many days in a row through rocky terrain with slippery, steep footing, drop offs, and heavy tree cover and he was fantastic.

On the ground, around our children, he is gentle, friendly, and sweet. He is easy to catch in pasture and is equally happy in a stall in the barn. Both of our kids can halter him and load him in the trailer easily. We have loved him and trained him for the last 3 years and in that time he has been a gentleman, whether in the arena, the round pen, or on trail.

Amigo has been pre-vet checked and is up to date on vaccines, teeth, worming, and farrier. No maintenance.

SOLD - Canyon

2014 AQHA Palomino Gelding

10 years old and around 15.1 hands

$32,000

Canyon is a true Unicorn and easily one of the best trained horses in the barn. He has been hauled extensively, been trail ridden everywhere, roped some, barrel raced a bunch and done well in everything. He is a true cross over and can be ridden English too.. He has proven to us that he can do anything but what impresses us the most is that he has the confidence to be ridden by any skill level or rider and does great in so many different situations.

We cannot stress how easy and skilled he is. He has been exposed to weed whackers, chain saws, barking/snarling dogs, cows, cars, trucks, donkeys, dirt bikes, quads, UTV’s, tractors, farm equipment, welding, jackhammering and everything you can imagine on trail. He has a nice slow trot, comfortable lope and a confident walk.

He would be a phenomenal trail horse, would be great for Gymkhana or could go in pretty much any direction you’d like. We think he would be great for anyone who wants a safe mount for trail but wants some buttons to be able to do more than just trail ride.

Pre vet checked and up to date on teeth, vaccines, worming and farrier. No maintenance.

2017 Leopard Appaloosa Gelding

7 years old and around 15.1 hands

$22,500

Chief has a really cute face and is a super flashy leopard Appaloosa with tons of real world experience roping and doing all of the ranch chores. He's a calm, cool, chill guy and he's had tons of miles on trail, on the road and around the ranch and he's as solid as they come. We feel like he'll make someone a fantastic trail horse but he's got enough buttons and training to be taken in multiple directions.  Our 6 year old loves taking him for walks around the ranch and she can easily take him anywhere even over the obstacles and up the tilt trailer.

Whether you're looking for a smooth and dependable trail horse for yourself or your family Chief is a fantastic mount. He's experienced, reasonable and doesn't shy away from deep water crossings, tarps, balls, dogs, or anything else you can throw at him. He has an easy neck rein, a dependable stop, and can easily pick up his leads. He rates his speed, opens gates, does all the ranch chores, sidepasses, can ride on a loose rein or in light contact, direct reins, drives cattle, carries the flag, crosses water, crosses logs and easily goes over steps and teeter totters. He can ride out alone and in a group.

Chief is smart and curious but he’s all business when you saddle him up and he knows his job well. He has been exposed to barking dogs, UTV’s, tractors, trucks and cars, leaf blowers, welding, quads, dirt bikes, coyotes, ducks, donkeys, bison, cows, tarps, balls, flags loud noises and snow. He's been turned out on pasture with many other geldings without any trouble and is the same dependable guy day in and day out.

Chief has been pre-vet checked and is up to date on vaccines, teeth, worming, and farrier. No maintenance.

SOLD - Hickory

2014 Bay Roan Quarter Horse Gelding

10 years old and 14.3 hands

$25,000

Hickory is a 10 year old Bay Roan Quarter Horse Gelding, extremely versatile, laid back and one of our favorite horses in the barn. He has been hauled extensively, been trail ridden everywhere, spent a lot of time doing all of the ranch chores and is equally happy working in the arena. He is whip smart and has a great attitude which makes him very easy to train. He has shown us that he can do anything we ask of him with a good work ethic and willing attitude. Hickory is a fantastic all around horse and about as bombproof as we can expect a responsive horse to be.

Hickory is thick, calm and pretty easy going about whatever we throw his way and he has been exposed to weed whackers, chain saws, barking/snarling dogs, buffalo, cows, cars, trucks, donkeys, dirt bikes, quads, UTV’s, tractors, farm equipment, welding, jackhammering and everything you can imagine on trail. He has a nice slow trot, comfortable lope and a confident walk. He would be a phenomenal trail horse, would be great for Gymkhana, Ranch Riding, Western Dressage or could go in pretty much any direction you’d like.

We think he could be ridden by just about anyone if he is in regular work. He is one of the rare ones that our less seasoned riders will feel safe on and our seasoned riders will also enjoy riding. His previous family had many children and all that comes with them so he has been exposed to about everything you can think of.

Pre-vet checked and up to date on teeth, vaccines, worming and farrier. No maintenance.

SOLD - Flash

2019 Bay AQHA/APHA Gelding

5 years old and 15.2 hands

$32,000

Flash is a super thick and flashy in-your-pocket bay gelding with a heart of gold. In spite of his name he is actually slow, chill and laid back. He comes to us started in western dressage and working equitation and he has been ridden by kids and adults on the ranch and out at shows. Flash has an extremely comfortable sitting trot, smooth transitions, and a gentle rocking horse lope. He’s been ridden Western and English and handled both with ease. He picks up both leads, side passes beautifully, drags things, even runs the barrel pattern - albeit slow and steady. On trail Flash goes over downed logs, crosses deep water, handles rocky terrain. All of this and he will greet you in the stall, put his head on your shoulder, and follow you around like a puppy.

Flash is an old soul and a laid back, easy going horse for his years. He loves a leisurely trail ride and has also proven himself to be a nice arena horse too. We feel like he could go in pretty much any direction you’d like. For a young horse we feel Flash is about as husband safe and kid safe as you can get. He does great with deep water crossings, tarps, balls, dogs, cars, tractors, coyotes, dirt bikes, motorcycles, quads or anything else we have walked him over or thrown at him.

My 6 year old can trailer load him, wash him, touch him anywhere, and walk him all around the ranch. He has been ridden by beginners, used for lessons and he has patiently babysat every rider on different trails, on the road and in the arena. We have turned him out on pasture with several other geldings without any trouble.

I can’t say enough good things about him for a family looking for a safe, calm and friendly trail horse. He has experience in the arena, and on trail. Flash is dual registered AQHA and APHA with a set of papers that will make our paint horse folks drool and for those of you who have been eyeing our own Johnny Cash over the years, look no further.

Flash has been pre-vet checked and is up to date on vaccines, teeth, worming, and farrier. No maintenance.

SOLD - Leroy

2017 AQHA Registered Bay Roan Gelding

7 years old and 14.2 hands

$30,000

Leroy is absolutely stunning and such a handsome, calm and easy going guy with excellent training. He is super well bred and his papers carry all of the big names we look for including Pepto and Cat lines. He is the perfect size and age for most of our buyers at 7 years old and 14.3 hands with a thick and strong build. His mane is so thick that we call it a double mane and his tail is to die for.

Leroy is calm, easy going, has a great work ethic and is a fast learner. He has all of the buttons we look for and he is incredibly responsive and good natured. What impresses us most is that he can be so quick off our aids and also be rock solid on trail which we love to see all in the same package. He is smart, friendly, sweet and curious and our experienced riders will be drooling though we think he would suit all but our greenest riders.

Leroy has lots of experience out on ranches moving and doctoring cattle, all the other ranch chores, dabbled in local showing in cutting and did some light performance work. We feel like he would fit nearly any application including trail riding, ranch riding, cow sorting, western dressage, cutting, gymkhana, playdays and anything in between.

Leroy has been exposed to everything you can think of including including dogs, utv’s, tractors, vehicles, leaf blowers, welding, quads, dirt bikes, coyotes, ducks, donkeys, bison, cows, tarps, balls, flags, water and loud noises. He is a pleasure to ride and he rates his speed well, picks up his leads, opens gates, side passes, has an excellent stop, shoulder and hip control, collects, neck reins, direct reins and easily rides with a loose rein or in contact. He also trailer loads, straight ties, cross ties, picks up his feet, he’s easy to catch, carries the flag, crosses water, drives cattle, crosses logs, goes up steps, crosses a teeter totter, trail rides alone or in a group, rides in the dark and trailers well on short or long trips.

Leroy has been pre-vet checked and is up to date on vaccines, teeth, worming, and farrier. No maintenance. X-Rays taken of Front Feet and Hocks.

SOLD - Ginger

2017 Bay Quarter Horse Mare

7 years old and around 15 hands

$12,500

Ginger is a sweet, friendly mare with a kind eye. She greets you in pasture and will stand quietly to be haltered. She will happily walk around the barn with you or take you out on trail. Ginger has lived on pasture and in the barn with mares and geldings and gets along with both.

Ginger has lots of varied experience and has been a kid’s roping lesson horse, done lots of ranch work and been on countless trails at the ranch. Trail is where she shines, but in the arena Ginger walks with confidence and has a slow, easy trot. Our son says she has one of the easiest trots he’s ever sat! She takes great care of her rider and would be a great kid’s trail horse or therapeutic riding horse.

She hops in the trailer easily, ties for hours, and can be ridden in the front, back or middle of the string. On trail Ginger goes over logs, up and down hills, and crosses water. With her varied experience she takes all of the trail obstacles, tarps, balls, flags, tractors, dogs, leaf blowers, atv's, go karts and cars in stride. She passed our trail training program and is ready for her forever home.

Ginger would be happiest in a home with lighter trail work. She does well in the arena and on trail at a walk and trot - we would recommend maintenance for any significant arena or loping work.

Ginger has been pre vet checked, however vet checks are always welcome at buyer’s expense. Up to date on all vaccines, worming, shoeing and teeth.

$27,500

Apollo is a very friendly 5 year old Registered Friesian cross gelding and stands at around 16.1 hands. He is absolutely gorgeous with a flowing mane, forelock and a silky beautiful tail. Apollo has a really fun and engaging personality so you can’t help but love him. We feel like he would do really well in an English or Western program since he has done a little dressage, roped a little and been all over on trail. He is young and enthusiastic about his job and we feel like he could go in just about any direction though he is a shoe in as dressage horse. He has even proven himself to be able to ride bridless, easily turning and stopping off of our legs and seat.

Apollo is extremely respectful on the ground and young kids can easily trailer load him, brush, wash and take him all over the property. He hops in the trailer with a point and a click and can stand tied for hours. He has been hauled extensively and doesn’t mind being in any type of horse or stock trailer. He has been exposed to barking/snarling dogs, cows, Buffalo, cars, trucks, goats, donkeys, dirt bikes, quads, UTV’s, tractors, farm equipment, welding, jackhammering and everything you can imagine on trail. We invested a few extra months of training in this gorgeous guy and we are sure glad that we did. He has become incredibly consistent and holds himself nicely in the arena. We’ve also taken him all over on trail and he’s incredibly solid for a 5 year old horse. He has a great mind and easily handles all of the obstacles that we have thrown at him. He is calm and safe enough for just about anybody to ride him however we would recommend a beginner have a trainer to keep all of the training and buttons we’ve put on him. We find that he does best with consistent work of 3 days a week plus though can recall all of his training with a groundwork session if he has to sit a bit.

Apollo has been pre-vet checked and is up to date on vaccines, teeth, worming, and farrier. No maintenance.

10 years old and 15 hands

$25,000

Teddy is a big cuddly teddy bear of a horse and not just because he has his winter coat. He's a calm, cool, chill guy and he has been an absolute pleasure to have on the ranch. Teddy is in your pocket and super friendly. If you aren't giving him enough attention he'll let you know he wants more. We feel like he'll make someone a fantastic trail horse but he's got enough buttons and training with a nice enough feel to be taken in multiple directions.

This guy is absolutely stunning and is super smooth to cover some ground out on trail. He has tons of trail miles and has a great mind easily handling all the trail can throw at his way. SOLD - Sugar

2016 Palomino Quarter Horse Mare

8 years old and around 15 hands

$20,000

Sugar is incredibly calm and sweet and loves kids so much that she has been a wonderful mare to have around the ranch. If you come out to meet her be prepared to take her home because she is sure to steal your heart.

We love our broodmares but we don’t bring many mares into our training program, so you know that she is easy going and agreeable. I think what most impresses us is that you can hardly tell she is a mare and she can even be tied on the side of the trailer with the geldings. She handles all of the trail obstacles, tarps, balls, flags, tractors, dogs, leaf blowers, atv's, go karts and cars with ease.

Sugar has lots of varied experience and has done a little roping, lots of ranch work and countless trails at the ranch and trailered out. She hops in the trailer enthusiastically, ties for hours, and can be ridden in the front, back or middle of the string. She goes over logs, teeter totters, stairs, hills and anything else we have thrown at her. She passed our trail training program and is ready for her forever home.

Sugar has been pre vet checked however vet checks are always welcome at buyers expense. Up to date on all vaccines, worming, shoeing and teeth.

She is super well trained and has all of the buttons, bells and whistles you are looking for. She came to us from friends of ours and we will be very selective about where she goes.

We cannot knock this mare for anything and if our kids were a few years older then it would be a no brainer to keep her!! Clara's extensive training makes her a great choice for an intermediate level rider, however we feel with her calm and kind nature she could also work for a confident beginner working with a trainer.

Clara has been pre-vet checked and is up to date on vaccines, teeth, worming, and farrier. No maintenance.

$25,000

Cash is a super gentle young horse with the sweetest curious personality and he is a complete pet. He has tons and tons of trail miles all around the ranch and out in the hills. He has done lots of groundwork and was started right so theres no nonsense when he gets into stressful situations. He has helped with basic ranch chores and has an incredibly easy going attitude. He loves cuddling and being brushed and groomed by kids and adults. Our 8 year old son loves riding Cash and will be sad to see him go. We think theres nothing Cash can't do if you put the time in and he even rides bridless!

Cash is an old soul and a laid back, easy going horse for his years. He is Dollar’s half brother and we loved Dollar so much we had to bring in Cash too. He loves a leisurely trail ride and has also proven himself to be a nice arena horse too. We feel like he could go in pretty much any direction you’d like.

For a young horse we feel Cash is about as husband safe and kid safe as you can get. He does great with deep water crossings, tarps, balls, dogs, cars, tractors, coyotes, dirt bikes, motorcycles, quads or anything else we have walked him over or thrown at him. He has an easy neck rein, a great stop and easily picks up his leads.

My 6 year old can trailer load him, wash him, touch him anywhere, and walk him all around the ranch. He is the same dependable guy day in and day out whether in cold, rain, wind and even with time off after a quick groundwork session. He has been ridden by beginners, used for lessons and he has patiently babysat every rider on different trails, on the road and in the arena. We have turned him out on pasture with as many other geldings without any trouble.

I can’t say enough good things about him for a family looking for a safe, calm and friendly trail horse. He has experience in the arena, on trail and doing many ranch chores but we have intentionally tuned him down to be a slow and safe all around horse.

Cash has been pre-vet checked and is up to date on vaccines, teeth, worming, and farrier. No maintenance.

DECEASED - Phoenix

Unfortunately a freak accident lead to us losing poor Phoenix.

2012 Palomino Quarter Horse Gelding

12 years old and about 15.1 hands

Phoenix was a well broke, gentle and dependable guy in almost any situation. He was calm and sweet and we think he could have been ridden by just about anyone and that they would enjoy riding him. We had him riding around bridless and doing everything else we asked of him before he passed. He was a sweet and gentle soul and he will be truly missed!!

SOLD - Tulip

2016 Sorrel Rabicano Quarter Horse Mare

8 years old and about 14.3 hands

$17,500

Tulip has proven herself to be an incredibly brave trail horse and we have put a significant amount of arena time on her too. She is super curious and interested in everything you are doing and will run up to you in the pasture to ask for petting. She is incredibly solid and about as bombproof as they come, even being ridden in a Christmas parade up in Idaho during the winter.

Tulip absolutely loves kids - she makes a bee line for our kids when they come into the round pen, nuzzling them and dropping her head for them to pet her. She would make a great kid's horse riding independently or as a lead line horse as well. She takes great care of her riders, no matter their age. Tulip is unfazed by loud noises or fast movements and we think she'd make an excellent trail horse or be right at home in a therapy program.

Tulip has been pre-vet checked and is up to date on vaccines, teeth, worming, and farrier. She was on Regumate up in idaho so we have kept her on it though we have her turned out with two geldings right now and she has been getting along great with them. She does great in all around work however some maintenance is recommended for heavier work load.

SOLD - Cornbread

2014 Haflinger Cross Pony Mare

10 years old and 13 hands

$15,000

Cornbread is a perfect pony for your kids on trail and would even do great in gymkhana or at play days. We just don’t find ponies this good very often and we would keep her in a second if we were looking for another pony. She is as safe as she is well trained with more buttons than you typically find in ponies of this size and can easily be ridden bareback in a halter. Our 6 and 8 year old kids have ridden her all over on trail even riding on into the dark without trouble. She is fantastic with beginners and a more experienced kid will easily be able to trot and lope her at home or trailering her out. She hops in the trailer and gets along well with the other horses. We have had her in a stall and out on pasture with a handful of other horses without issue.

Cornbread is super smart and friendly easily stealing your heart with her wonderful personality. She has been exposed to cars, trucks, tractors, quads, utvs, leaf blowers, chain saws, birds taking off, loud noises, tarps, balls, flags, ropes all over her body and feet. She easily crosses water, steps over logs and even carries the flag easily for our 8 year old.

Pre-vet-checked and up to date on farrier, vaccines and teeth. No maintenance. Very small children may need a little help putting on the bridle, other than that she has been a delight.

SOLD - Maverick

2014 AQHA Registered Black Gelding

10 years old and 15.3 hands

$30,000

Maverick is a true Unicorn and easily one of the best trained horses in the barn. He is incredibly friendly and sweet coming up to you in the stall or on pasture to hang out with you and he is very willing for whatever you want to do that day. He has been hauled extensively, been trail ridden in the wilds of Canada and also done really well in the arena at everything he has tried. He has extensive experience as a western horse however he is also an easy cross over and could easily be ridden English. He has proven to us that he can do anything but what impresses us the most is that he has the confidence to be ridden by any skill level of rider and we feel like he is husband and kid safe.

He would be a phenomenal trail horse, would be great as an arena horse or could go in pretty much any direction you’d like.

He is calm and easy with at least a few days a week of work but is easy to get back there with a quick lunge if he sits for a bit, no nonsense he just gets energetic with time off.

COPPER - WE’RE KEEPING HIM

UPDATE: Copper is too trained and sweet and cute so for now we decided to keep him. We’ve been asked many times by clients if we fall in love with them and we often do. In this case we love him too much to let him go, at least for now…

We’ve had a chance to work with him a bit now and he’s one of the best trained horses we’ve had in the program. With all the training he has received in his young years he does need maintenance. His price has been adjusted accordingly.

SOLD - Falcon

He has been hauled extensively, been trail ridden everywhere, spent a lot of time doing all of the ranch chores and is equally happy working in the arena. He is whip smart and has a great attitude which makes him very easy to train. He has shown us that he can do anything we ask of him and is incredibkly reasonable about requests he doesn’t quite understand. Falcon is about as bombproof as we can expect a 5 year old horse to be.

We cannot stress how much we love Falcon and we will be very selective with who he goes to. He has been exposed to weed whackers, chain saws, barking/snarling dogs, buffalo, cows, cars, trucks, donkeys, dirt bikes, quads, UTV’s, tractors, farm equipment, welding, jackhammering and everything you can imagine on trail. He has a nice slow trot, comfortable lope and a confident walk. He would be a phenomenal trail horse, would be great for Gymkhana, Ranch Riding, Western Dressage or could go in pretty much any direction you’d like.

SOLD - Santiago

2016 Paso Fino/Quarter Cross Gelding

7 years old and about 15 hands

$17,500

Looking for the perfect super smooth trail horse for your family? Look no further than Santiago, a 7-year-old, 15 hand Paso Fino x Quarter Horse Cross. Santiago is not only stunning with a beautiful mane and tail but he is also incredibly calm, sweet, and easy for just about anyone to ride.

This guy is absolutely stunning and is super smooth to cover some ground out on trail. He has tons of trail miles and has a great mind easily handling all the trail can throw at his way. Normally we don’t work with gaited horses however this guy rides just like a typical quarter horse with the added benefit of a wonderfully smooth lope and super comfortable long trot easily accessible without any gaited horse knowledge.

He's experienced, reasonable and doesn't shy away from deep water crossings, tarps, balls, dogs, or anything else you can throw at him. SOLD - Maisy

2014 Sorrel Paint Mare

9 years old and 14.3 hands

$15,000

Maisy is sweet and kind and likes to work. She has proven herself to be a good barrel horse and is wicked on the poles so we think she would make a great intermediate kids Barrel or Gymkhana horse. She is more of a free runner but responds really well to the reins. She has surprised us with a nice spin and has even been hitting flying lead changes. She has been in training for 4 months now and we feel like she has become really consistent and she is ready for her new home. She gladly hops in the trailer and has been tied next to and between geldings and other mares.

Though we think she’d make a great performance horse we don’t want to undersell her as a trail horse because Maisy is not spooky and does great on trail. She has been exposed to tarps, balls, flags, quads, UTVs, tractors, vehicles, dirt bikes and crosses water. She prefers to have regular work however we’ve found that she settles right back into the swing of things with a quick lunge and some groundwork. Though she has done lessons with as young as an 11 year old rider we do not consider her a beginner horse since she is very responsive and has a more forward motion.

Maisy has been pre vet checked however vet checks are always welcome at buyers expense. Up to date on all vaccines, worming, shoeing and teeth.

Bella is a stunning 5 year old mare that has been everywhere and done everything in her young years in the arena, trail riding all over the hills of Idaho and even competed in local extreme cowboy events. She has a really nice feel on her and she is super friendly, curious, dog gentle and absolutely loves hanging out with the kids. She has been tied and trailered between all of the geldings and mares and doesn’t care who is next to her. Bella is the same horse whether she is ridden every day or only a couple of times a week. She has been a crowd favorite around the ranch and we are confident that she will make an incredible all around family horse.

For a horse that has done a lot of obstacle work and has ridden outside a bunch we are really impressed with how broke she is in the arena. She has a great head on her shoulders and she is incredibly sensible when we put her in tough situations. Bella has been ridden by just about everybody including our 5 year old daughter and she has taken care of all of them on trail and in the arena. We still cannot believe the she is 5 because she rides like an older seasoned horse at least twice her age.

Bella had a favorable PPE and the vet thought she would do fine on trail without maintenance however once we got her in heavier arena work we felt that some hock maintenance would be a good idea, which we did in early November.

ADOPTED - Traveler

2011 Dun Quarterhorse Gelding

12 years old and about 14.3 hands

Please read all of his description before calling.

Traveler is such an incredibly sweet and willing horse who gave his all to his previous owners just a little too much. When we bought him he was being ridden at a walk, trot and lope all around a ranch doing all of the ranch chores. He is really well trained, calm and gentle. His vet check including X-Rays shows that he has significant arthritis in several joints and should not do any more work than lead line or kids riding him around a property or in an arena for short rides. We put him on Equioxx to keep him more comfortable and his appetite has gotten much better and he has been active so he has put on weight since the photo was taken and he seems overall to be doing much better.

Ideally we want him to go to someone needing a really nice, respectful and gentle pet with a small amount of riding. This horse is so tough and willing that he would literally do anything you ask of him so its important to us that he goes to a home where he will not be pushed.

At this point after purchasing him to rescue him, getting his feet trimmed, vaccines done, teeth floated, PPE and X-Rays done, Equioxx and feed to get him back to a good weight we are into him for a little over $5000. In a perfect world we would recoup some or all of this however a good home is the most important thing for us and we are open to offers for a loving home.

When we are out searching for horses that will meet our strict criteria to be a “Lazy Oaks Horse” we have to go through a lot of horses that do not meet our standards in terms of training, soundness, safety and personality. We pass up many of the horses that we check out because they are not good enough for the program. Occasionally we meet a horse that is so exceptional that we are tempted to buy the horse anyway. Traveler is exactly the type of horse that we liked so much that we could not live with ourselves if we let him continue to be worked so hard.

Serious inquiries only and please share his info if you know anyone who could be a good home for Traveler.

SOLD - Jolene

2017 Sooty Buckskin Quarter Horse Mare

6 years old and around 14.3 hands

$17,500

Jolene is an in your pocket 6 year old Sooty Buckskin Mare and stands around 14.3 hands. She is thick and pretty and has been a pleasure to have on the ranch.

Jolene also has lots of varied experience and has done some ranch work and countless trails at the ranch and trailered out. She hops in the trailer enthusiastically, ties for hours, and can be ridden in the front, back or middle of the string. She easily goes up the tilt trailer, over logs, teeter totters, stairs, hills, crosses water, crosses bridges and anything else we have thrown at her. She passed our training program and is ready for her forever home.

She has extensive experience out on trail and has spent a lot of time working in the arena. My 7 year old can easily brush her, pick her hooves, trailer load her and touch her anywhere without a care. Jolene is incredibly calm and sweet and loves kids so much that she has been a wonderful mare to have around the ranch. If you come out to meet her be prepared to take her home because she is sure to steal your heart.

We love our broodmares but we rarely bring mares into our trail training program, so you know that she is easy going and agreeable. I think what most impresses us is that you can hardly tell she is a mare and she can even be tied on the side of the trailer with the geldings. She handles all of the trail obstacles, tarps, balls, flags, tractors, dogs, leaf blowers, atv's, go karts and cars with ease.

She is super safe and level headed enough that we think just about anyone could ride her however we think she would be best suited for an advanced beginner or intermediate rider so that she keeps all of the arena training we have put on her.

Jolene has been pre vet checked however vet checks are always welcome at buyers expense. Up to date on all vaccines, worming, shoeing and teeth.

SOLD - Cherokee

2013 Bay Tobiano Paint

10 years old and around 14.3 hands

$17,500

Cherokee is a super friendly "in your pocket" horse with tons of trail miles and a sweet disposition. He has extensive experience trail riding and does a great job holding himself at whatever gait you ask him for. He completed the trail program and has moved on to the performance program where he has been started on the barrel pattern and is doing really well. Kids and teens have done great taking lessons on him and he will make a great gymkhana horse. He has a good work ethic and loves to get out and train barrels or cover some ground on trail.

Cherokee is extremely respectful on the ground and my 7 year old son can easily trailer load him, brush, wash and take him over all of the obstacles. He has a nice smooth trot, comfortable lope and a confident walk. He can be ridden in various different bits and easily stops off your seat. He would be a phenomenal kid/teen Barrel or Gymkhana horse or go in pretty much any direction you like.

He is calm and safe enough that most anyone can ride him but he also has get up and go if you want to get somewhere or get work done. He is calm and easy with at least 3 days a week of work but is easy to get back there with a quick lunge if he sits for a bit, no nonsense he just gets energetic with time off.
